Account Manager – Telecommunications / Broadband
Location: Fully Remote | Employment Type: Full-Time | Hours: Flexible 9–5
We are partnered with a growing telecommunications and broadband services organization that is looking to add an experienced Account Manager / Business Development professional to its team.
This is a commercially focused role with the opportunity to make a direct impact on the company's growth by developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and building long-term partnerships across the fiber, broadband, and telecommunications market .
You will work closely with company leadership, engineering, project management, and operations to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and take relationships from initial conversation through contract execution and into project delivery.
The company is intentionally small, collaborative, and people-first , with a close-knit team of approximately 60 employees. The structure is flat, leadership is accessible, and this role will have direct exposure to the CEO and senior leadership team .
The Role
You will own the commercial relationship throughout the sales cycle — from identifying and developing opportunities through proposal, negotiation, contract execution, and the transition into project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have an established network within the ISP, broadband, utility, engineering, or telecommunications space , along with a proven ability to develop new business and turn industry relationships into long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across the telecommunications and broadband market.
- Build relationships with key decision-makers within ISPs, broadband providers, electric cooperatives, municipalities, WISPs, utilities, and other telecom organizations .
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurately track opportunities, forecasts, activity, and next steps within the CRM.
- Leverage an existing industry network to generate new opportunities and expand market presence.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, association events, and networking opportunities.
- Develop proposals, presentations, SOWs, and pricing in collaboration with internal leadership and delivery teams.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiate scope, pricing, and contract terms.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's capabilities across areas such as engineering, OSP design, permitting, make-ready, fielding, and construction support .
- Develop and execute account-specific growth strategies.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional markets, services, projects, or increased scope.
- Understand client deployment plans, project pipelines, business objectives, and anticipated resource requirements.
- Monitor account health, revenue, pipeline, and upcoming opportunities.
- Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales into execution.
- Remain engaged with clients during the initial project transition and re-engage for future opportunities, expansions, renewals, and commercial discussions.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, strategic account management, or another client-facing commercial role.
- Strong understanding of the telecommunications and broadband industry .
- Experience selling professional services, engineering, construction, telecommunications, broadband, or related B2B solutions .
- An established network of relationships across the telecom, broadband, utility, ISP, or engineering ecosystem .
- Demonstrated success developing new business and converting prospects into long-term clients.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand technical client requirements and work with internal teams to develop practical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and accounts simultaneously.
- Experience working with CRM systems and maintaining accurate pipeline information.
- Strong commercial awareness around pipeline, revenue, pricing, and profitability .
A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, telecommunications, engineering, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent industry experience will absolutely be considered .
