Job Description:

Calculated Hire is seeking an Operations Accountant II to support the Supplier Finance Funding Operations team within a Fortune 100 Financial Services organization.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused position responsible for processing funding requests, reviewing financial information, researching payment inquiries, and supporting daily operational workflows within Commercial Banking.

The team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where accuracy, responsiveness, and follow-through are critical. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative to resolve issues rather than waiting for direction.

Prior commercial banking experience is not required. Candidates with experience in high-volume retail operations, payment processing, administrative support, accounting, or other detail-oriented environments are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process and initiate funding requests through internal banking systems, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Monitor and manage a shared team inbox, responding to funding inquiries, researching discrepancies, and following requests through to resolution.
  • Enter, review, and validate financial data across internal systems to support funding and payment operations.
  • Perform reconciliation, transaction research, and basic financial calculations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage daily processing responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and consistent productivity.
  • Proactively identify outstanding requests, research unfamiliar scenarios, and take appropriate next steps to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with team members and internal business partners to troubleshoot inquiries, clarify processes, and complete transactions.
  • Learn and follow established procedures while developing the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain clear, professional email communication and provide timely updates on outstanding requests.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of experience in operations, administrative support, customer service, retail, accounting, payment processing, or a similar environment; equivalent education or training considered.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, or similar functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers, financial information, and basic calculations.
  • Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly when responding to inquiries and following up on outstanding items.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, ask questions, and collaborate with teammates.
  • Ability to consistently meet the required hybrid schedule of three days onsite per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, or payment operations.
  • Exposure to financial services, commercial banking, loan servicing, or funding operations.
  • Experience researching and resolving customer or internal operational inquiries.
  • Experience working in shared inboxes, processing queues, or other high-volume environments.
  • Experience with data entry, financial reconciliation, or transaction validation.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role:

The team is looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, remains engaged throughout the day, and proactively seeks opportunities to contribute.

Successful individuals are naturally curious, willing to ask questions, and motivated to learn new processes. They understand that completing a task means following it through to resolution, not simply acknowledging a request.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to gain hands-on experience within Commercial Banking and build a foundation in financial operations.
