On Site Full TimeCharlotte, United StatesCAROLINA PRG

Build the function. Shape the decisions.

Carolina PRG has partnered with an established, locally headquartered business who is seeking a Director of FP&A to create the planning tools, financial insights, and processes that will guide its next chapter. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll join a stable company with an entrepreneurial approach and significant opportunity to influence how the business plans, measures performance, and invests. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys building models, working through operational details, and turning analysis into practical recommendations. You’ll help move the organization beyond monthly targets toward a more comprehensive budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning framework.

Your priorities

  • Establish an annual budget process and rolling forecasts that connect departmental plans to company objectives.
  • Develop financial models that explain business performance, test assumptions, and evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Strengthen visibility into job costs, project profitability, revenue drivers, margins, and customer economics.
  • Create clear monthly reporting that highlights results, variances, emerging risks, and recommended actions.
  • Partner with operational and department leaders to improve planning, accountability, and financial decision-making.
  • Improve the quality and efficiency of reporting through better systems, business intelligence, automation, and analytics.
  • Coach and develop a Senior Financial Analyst while remaining directly involved in the work.

The experience you’ll bring

You’ve owned budgeting and forecasting processes, built financial models from scratch, and helped business leaders understand what the numbers mean—and what to do next.

Your background should include:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical discipline.
  • Experience managing or mentoring analytical talent.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP, financial reporting, or planning systems.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both executives and operational teams.
  • Experience with recurring revenue, construction, infrastructure, or other environments involving job costing would be especially valuable.
  • An MBA, CPA, CFA, or experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or finance automation tools is a plus.
