Market Data Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are working with a leading global hedge fund looking for an experienced Market Data Engineering Manager to join its Data Technology team and lead the development of enterprise market data platforms.

This is a technical leadership position, with responsibility for managing and mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, and helping architect next-generation market data capabilities. The platform supports real-time and historical data across Equities, Macro, Commodities and Credit.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and analysts.
• Drive the architecture and development of next-generation market data platforms.
• Oversee the ingestion and distribution of real-time and historical market data.
• Define the technical roadmap and work closely with investment and trading teams.
• Ensure platforms meet high standards for performance, resilience, availability and recoverability.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• 5+ years of experience building or operating market data systems.
• Strong understanding of real-time and historical market data platforms.
• Experience with low-latency development patterns in C++.
• Experience supporting investment research and/or trade execution across multiple asset classes.
• Experience with Bloomberg and Refinitiv/LSEG market data APIs is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development and delivery of resilient production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

This role would suit someone who combines deep market data expertise with strong engineering leadership, and who is comfortable setting technical direction while leading the teams responsible for delivery.
