FP&A Associate / Manager
Department: Finance
Type: Full-Time
Reports To: CFO
Location: Remote / NY or LA Preferred
Required Work Authorization: USA
Salary: $120,000–$140,000, plus eligibility for a 10% discretionary bonus
About the Role
We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented, analytical, and highly collaborative FP&A Senior Associate or Junior Manager to build out and own financial planning, forecasting, and business partnering at Crown Affair.
Reporting to the CFO, you will translate the company’s financial data into clear, decision-ready insight for leaders across the organization, from budgeting and forecasting to assessment of unit economics and channel-level profitability, as well as board and investor reporting.
This is a high-visibility role at a fast-growing, founder-led brand, with significant opportunity to build the FP&A function from the ground up and shape how it scales.
You Will Love This Job If You
- Are entrepreneurial and aspire to own and build out a function from the bottom up
- Thrive in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment, where “building the plane as you fly it” is part of your personal MO
- Are energized by ambiguity and like creating structure and process where none exists yet
- Are self-motivated and also not afraid to ask questions
- Have genuine curiosity about the business, not just what the numbers say, but why they move
- Enjoy turning numbers into key insights that non-finance leaders can act on
- Love to collaborate with cross-functional partners across the organization
- Thrive under deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
What You Will Do
- Partner with the CFO to lead the annual long-range planning and budgeting cycles end-to-end, including timeline management, template design, and stakeholder alignment
- Own the annual budgeting and ad hoc reforecasting processes, with oversight from the CFO, partnering with department heads to build bottoms-up plans and roll them into a company-wide view
- Build and maintain rolling financial models, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, headcount, and channel-level profitability, that support both day-to-day decisions and long-range planning
- Collaborate with the Controller to review monthly budget-vs-actual (BVA) reporting and variance analysis, identifying key drivers via bridge analysis and flagging risks and opportunities to the CFO and leadership team
- Partner with Marketing, Retail, DTC, and Supply Chain to build channel and SKU-level profitability models
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting packages for the executive team and Board of Directors
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decisions, including new product launches, new collaborations, pricing, retail partnerships, capital allocation, and fundraising
- Partner with the Controller and Accounting team to ensure alignment between actuals and forecast
- Support cash flow forecasting, including oversight of the 13-week and 12-month cash flow forecast and supporting working capital analysis
- Improve forecast accuracy and automate forecasting and reporting processes
- Improve FP&A processes, tools, and reporting infrastructure to scale with the business and keep the function on the cutting edge of AI
- Assist with investor reporting and board deck preparation, as needed
Key Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in FP&A or corporate finance
- 2+ years of experience owning a budgeting/forecasting process end-to-end at a mid-size or large company
- Consumer, CPG, beauty, or DTC/retail industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience at a startup or small, high-growth company is a plus
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets modeling skills; experience with BI or planning tools is a plus
- Experience working with AI and AI-driven planning platforms is a plus
- Confident communicator, comfortable presenting analysis to senior executives and influencing decisions
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- High attention to detail and a bias toward accuracy, paired with a strategic, big-picture mindset
- Comfortable working in a small, entrepreneurial team where you’ll build processes from the ground up
