The Role

We’re looking for an independent, driven Sales Manager to win new accounts and grow existing ones. You’ll work closely with our Hong Kong office and our factory in China to make sure we deliver on everything you sell.

Core Responsibilities

Win new business

  • Pipeline Management: Build, qualify, and execute an active sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, executive networking, trade shows, and industry referrals.
  • Full-Cycle Sales Ownership: Lead high-value opportunity cycles end-to-end including discovery, needs analysis, quotation, prototyping, negotiation and closure.
  • Custom Solution Design: Partner with our product development and engineering team in China to pitch cost-optimized, innovative manufacturing solutions tailored to client budgets and timelines.

Grow key accounts

  • Account Expansion: Manage and grow key accounts by analyzing purchase cycles, identifying line-extension opportunities, and protecting target profit margins.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Manage dedicated China-based Project Manager to oversee production, sampling, quality control, and on-time global distribution.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with the VP of Sales and CEO on market strategy, leading quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and joint planning with client executives.

Know the product

  • Develop strong working knowledge of our products, materials, and the safety and compliance standards our customers require.
  • Ensure all custom products adhere to strict North American educational, safety, and compliance standards (e.g., ASTM, CPSIA).

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent Pipeline Velocity: Converting new client accounts smoothly from initial prototype builds to repeat bulk production orders.
  • Account Portfolio Growth: Expanding gross revenue and maintaining healthy gross margins across core accounts.
  • Seamless Global Execution: Establishing tight alignment with China-based engineering and project management teams to hit on-time delivery targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree and at least 5 years of B2B sales experience in manufacturing or sourcing.
  • Experience selling educational products, publishing, arts and crafts, toys, STEM kits or similar consumer goods.
  • Solid understanding of overseas manufacturing: costing, MOQs, lead times, quality control and product safety.
  • Proven closer and negotiator who is comfortable with senior buyers and executives.
  • Self-starter who works independently and stays organized across multiple accounts and a busy pipeline.
  • Experience working with international teams; experience with China or Hong Kong is a plus.

Work Schedule & Travel

  • Travel: 20-30% domestic travel for trade shows, prospective client pitches, and key account reviews.
  • Flexibility: Ability to occasionally adjust working hours for morning or evening video calls with Hong Kong and China team

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)
  • Incentive Compensation: annual performance-based bonus on top-line revenue and margin targets.
