Position Summary
The Credit Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the timely collection of customer payments by analyzing accounts and collaborating closely with Sales and Customers. This position is responsible for managing individual credit metrics while also supporting strategic initiatives within the overall Credit Department.
Primary Responsibilities
• Initiate collection activities for delinquent payments using phone, email, dunning letters, and by contacting Managers or Account Executives.
• Handle credit and local inquiries or disputes received by phone; create new disputes for controlled accounts.
• Research financial disputes and inquiries related to customer accounts.
• Work with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues such as volume discrepancies, pricing, freight, short-pays, account issues, and promotions.
• Coordinate actions based on root-cause analysis of disputes and identify patterns for resolution by working directly with customers or Sales/Managers.
• Update collection notes to document resolution status and collection attempts.
• Identify opportunities to improve the overall credit portfolio and reduce bad debt or delinquent accounts.
Required Qualifications
• Education: High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience: 2–4 years in Accounts Receivable, Credit, and/or Collections with a strong understanding of department functions, terminology, and interrelationships.
Technical Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated expertise in collection practices.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interactions with internal and external customers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across various business functions.
• Proficiency in analyzing past due accounts and applying appropriate collection treatments.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and specialized accounting/finance ERP software (e.g., Workday).
Language Requirements
Must be fluent in English.
