Role Overview

eNGINE is seeking a Salesforce System Analyst & Administrator to help a growing, technology-driven B2B organization modernize its internal systems and scale its operations. The company has established a strong digital foundation in a technical distribution market and is investing heavily in engineering, data infrastructure, and its next generation of ecommerce capabilities.

A key priority is creating a more connected business environment where teams share reliable data, processes work consistently across departments, and technology investments deliver measurable results.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that combines Salesforce administration, business systems analysis, functional solution design, and project coordination. Working closely with engineering leadership and stakeholders across the business, you will identify operational challenges, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and guide solutions from discovery through implementation and adoption.

The ideal candidate enjoys bringing structure to complex systems, building relationships across departments, and turning disconnected processes into practical, scalable solutions. This role offers meaningful ownership and the opportunity to influence how a growing organization uses technology to support its next stage of expansion.

Responsibilities

Business Systems Strategy & Process Improvement

  • Maintain a prioritized roadmap for business systems improvements, aligning proposed initiatives with leadership objectives, available resources, and measurable business value.
  • Evaluate incoming requests, distinguish urgent support needs from longer-term improvements, and help stakeholders make informed decisions about competing priorities.
  • Assess how critical business information—including customer records, orders, products, opportunities, and service cases—moves across systems, partnering with engineering to establish clear data ownership and reliable sources of truth.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work, reduce process friction, strengthen data quality, and improve productivity across the organization.

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with teams across Sales, Customer Experience, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product, and Vendor Relations to understand business needs and coordinate system enhancements.
  • Investigate existing workflows and cross-department handoffs, uncovering root causes of inefficiencies before recommending automation or new functionality.
  • Convert business objectives into detailed requirements, user stories, process maps, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria that technical teams and external partners can use to deliver effective solutions.
  • Facilitate conversations between stakeholders with competing priorities, helping teams reach decisions and maintain alignment throughout implementation.
  • Advise leadership on potential solutions, implementation tradeoffs, and opportunities to improve business performance through technology.

Salesforce Administration & Functional Solution Design

  • Own the functional administration and ongoing improvement of Salesforce, establishing consistent standards for data fields, objects, page layouts, workflows, record ownership, and reporting.
  • Configure Salesforce functionality directly, including flows, validation rules, permission sets, reports, dashboards, and other administrative components.
  • Translate business requirements into functional designs for areas such as Service Cloud, case management, marketing automation, telephony, and ERP integrations.
  • Evaluate proposed changes for their impact on existing processes, integrations, reporting, and user access.
  • Coordinate configuration changes through appropriate testing, user acceptance, deployment, and post-release validation practices.
  • Collaborate with business data owners and engineering to strengthen data integrity, establish appropriate access controls, and ensure users can rely on consistent information.

Project & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate delivery of business systems initiatives from initial discovery and scoping through testing, rollout, training, and post-launch follow-up.
  • Work alongside engineers, consultants, and integration partners to connect Salesforce with the broader CRM, ERP, ecommerce, marketing, and reporting environment.
  • Define functional requirements and expected outcomes while partnering with engineering on technical feasibility, architecture, and custom development decisions.
  • Manage external consultants and vendors by clarifying deliverables, reviewing proposed solutions, tracking progress, and ensuring completed work meets agreed expectations.
  • Organize user acceptance testing, resolve functional gaps, and prepare business teams for changes to their daily workflows.

Documentation, Training & Adoption

  • Develop and maintain clear documentation covering business processes, system functionality, integration touchpoints, and shared data definitions.
  • Contribute to a structured internal knowledge base that makes operational and technical guidance easier to find, maintain, and leverage as AI-assisted search capabilities evolve.
  • Build user adoption through practical training, timely communication, and ongoing feedback from the people who use these systems.
  • Use AI and large language model tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, and workflow improvement while applying sound judgment around data privacy and output validation.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Technical Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis, Salesforce administration, revenue operations, business process improvement, or a closely related discipline within a growing organization.
  • Demonstrated success gathering requirements from multiple business functions and coordinating their delivery through internal technical teams or external implementation partners.
  • Hands-on experience administering Salesforce and designing functional solutions, including data models, flows, validation rules, permission sets, reports, and dashboards.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce beyond a basic sales pipeline, including service processes, additional business functions, or integrations with other enterprise systems.
  • Working knowledge of change management practices, including impact assessment, testing, deployment coordination, and user adoption.
  • Experience participating in integrations involving multiple business platforms, such as CRM, ERP, ecommerce, marketing automation, telephony, or business intelligence solutions.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to evaluate integration designs, ask informed questions, recognize downstream dependencies, and collaborate effectively with software engineers. Coding is not required.
  • Proficiency with AI and LLM tools to improve research, analysis, documentation, and business workflows, including the ability to validate generated information and handle business data responsibly.

Business Analysis & Delivery Skills

  • Strong analytical instincts and a structured approach to diagnosing process, system, and data issues.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority, building consensus among executives, business users, engineers, and third-party partners.
  • Experience managing projects through requirements gathering, functional design, testing, implementation, and ongoing improvement.
  • Confidence discussing priorities and tradeoffs with leadership and developing business cases for systems investments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into language that makes sense to business stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance daily system support against longer-term improvement initiatives.

Preferred Experience

  • Salesforce Administrator certification.
  • Exposure to HubSpot or similar marketing automation platforms, ERP solutions such as Acumatica, telephony systems, or enterprise knowledge management tools.
  • Experience in B2B distribution, ecommerce, building automation, HVAC, industrial products, or another technical product environment with complex customers, products, and operational workflows.
  • Experience helping a business consolidate disconnected systems, establish shared data definitions, or modernize legacy processes.
  • An improvement-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively in an environment where systems, processes, and team responsibilities are still evolving.
