Salesforce Developer | Full-time | New York City
About the client
My client is one of the largest philanthropies in the world, headquartered in Manhattan. Their programs reach cities and countries worldwide, with work in public health, the environment, education and government innovation. The technology team is small and senior, and engineers work directly with leadership.
The role
They’re hiring a full-time Salesforce Engineer to own their Salesforce platform. You’ll be the go-to person when the business needs something built or connected. Most of your time goes to hands-on development and integrations. The rest goes to working with program and grants teams and turning their requests into solutions that hold up.
What you’ll work on
- Building and maintaining custom functionality in Apex, Lightning Web Components and Flows
- Integrating Salesforce with internal systems and data platforms through REST and SOAP APIs
- Designing data models, objects and security (permission sets, sharing rules) that scale as the org grows
- Running releases: sandboxes, version control, CI/CD and deployments
- Cleaning up technical debt and older automation
- Gathering requirements from business stakeholders and setting priorities with them
What you bring
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development
- Strong Apex and LWC, including writing real test coverage and working within governor limits
- Integration experience with APIs and middleware such as MuleSoft
- Salesforce DX, Git and a working CI/CD pipeline
- Solid software engineering fundamentals. This team hires engineers first, so expect questions on code quality and design.
- Clear communication with non-technical people
Nice to have
- Nonprofit Cloud, NPSP or grants management experience
- Platform Developer I or II, or Application Architect certification
- Experience Cloud or Data Cloud
- Some Python or data warehouse exposure
