About us
We’re two connected businesses built by and for the working dog sport community.
K9 Sports Nation (k9sportsnation.com) is the online home for working dog sports, bringing handlers, clubs and events together in one place.
K9 Sports Marketing (k9sportsmarketing.com) helps the businesses and clubs that serve this community grow their presence and reach more people.
The role
We’re looking for a Growth & Community Marketing Manager to help both businesses grow: bringing in new clients for K9 Sports Marketing and new members for K9 Sports Nation.
This is a hands-on role that mixes relationship building, sales and marketing. You’ll report directly to the founder and have real ownership over results.
You’ll be a great fit if you know (or are) a dog sport person. Trust matters in this community, and people can tell right away who understands it.
What you’ll do
• Find and build relationships with businesses, clubs and individuals in the working dog sport world
• Turn conversations into new clients for K9 Sports Marketing
• Grow the K9 Sports Nation community and keep members engaged
• Plan and run marketing campaigns across email, social and events
• Represent us in person and online where the community gathers
• Track results and share what’s working
What success looks like
In your first year, you’ll build a steady flow of new clients, grow our community month over month, and create a repeatable approach the team can build on. We’ll set specific goals together when you start.
What you bring
Must have
• 3+ years in sales, business development or marketing
• Familiarity with working dog sports or the wider dog community
• Confidence reaching out to new people and the follow-through to stay on top of leads
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Comfort with common marketing and CRM tools
• Self-directed and organized
Nice to have
• Agency or small-business sales experience
• Existing relationships in the dog sport community
• Comfort on camera or on a mic
• Willingness to travel to events, especially in Florida and the Southeast
