Senior Financial Analyst (New York City Metropolitan Area)

Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst monitors and analyzes accounting data and produces financial reports or statements. Establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies and principles   

Roles and Responsibilities:The senior financial analyst will/is:

·        Manage annual and interim budget planning and forecasting processes by analyzing operating costs and sales

·        Interpret and review financial results and develop financial models to identify strategic alternatives and contingency plans.

·        Support the month-end close process by performing in-depth analysis of the various line items on the financial statements.

·        Prepare various sales tax returns

·        Prepare and maintain daily, monthly and annual business metrics

·        Special projects, as needed

·        Works closely with the Exec VP of Finance and accounting staff on audits and all pertinent financial issues

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Educations:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field

·        3-6 years of FP&A experience in retail preferred

·        Strong understanding of retail operations

Communication:

·        Excellent communication skills, written and oral, able to articulate and communicate with management and staff

Leadership:

·        Able to demonstrate problem resolution skills

·        Able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with staff at all levels of the organization

Organizational Skills:

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing

·        Detail oriented

·        Demonstrate the highest level of ethics and integrity

Required skills:

·        Ability to analyze and present financial data

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

·        Excellent math skills

·        Excellent time management

·        Excellent professional interpersonal skills both in person and by phone

·        Ability to manage multiple projects independently

·        Advanced MS Excel skills relating to logic formulas, pivot tables, xlookup, macros and formatting.
