Job Description

Job Description

Atlanta, GA | Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 remote) | Direct Hire

The Company

Our client is a global, multi-billion-dollar manufacturer of durable goods for homes and commercial buildings. It has operated for decades and has a large North American footprint. Finance was recently reorganized into three focused groups: go-to-market, operations, and SG&A/overhead. The overhead group’s scope has tripled, from about $300M to about $900M in managed spend.

Why This Role Exists

This is a new seat, not a backfill. The team grew, and they need another strong analyst to own a slice of the business, not just support it.

What You’ll Own

  • Full financial ownership of one or more functions. These could be R&D, Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, HR, or the PMO. You run their budget, forecast, and P&L story.
  • The annual plan and rolling forecasts. You lead the AOP and the monthly and quarterly forecasts for your functions.
  • Variance analysis with a point of view. You explain budget vs. actual and vs. prior year, and you tell leaders what’s driving the numbers and what to do about them.
  • Direct line to leadership. You partner one-on-one with managers, directors, and SVPs. No middle layer filters your work.
  • Models that drive decisions. You build income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow models plus ROI and NPV business cases from scratch.
  • Better processes. You automate reporting, tighten forecasts, and help the team move onto a new cloud ERP platform starting in January.

What You Bring

Must-haves

  • 4 to 6 years in FP&A or corporate financial analysis
  • Proven ownership of an opex, SG&A, or cost center budget, ideally with dollar figures to show for it
  • Hands-on AOP, forecasting, and variance commentary experience
  • Strong modeling skills, and you can walk us through a model you built and why you built it that way
  • Comfort presenting to and pushing back with senior leaders
  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Based in Atlanta and happy in the office 4 days a week

Strong pluses

  • Oracle (GL, EBS, or Cloud/Fusion) and Hyperion Planning
  • Advanced Excel, plus SQL, VBA, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Experience in a large, matrixed, or multi-segment company
  • Pricing, profitability, or sales analytics exposure

Not required

  • Manufacturing experience. Opex ownership matters more than industry.
  • CPA or MBA

Who Thrives Here

  • You’re detail-obsessed and can zoom out to the business story.
  • You flag problems early and question assumptions instead of waiting for a deadline to slip.
  • You build relationships easily and follow through without being chased.
  • You want to grow deep in FP&A for the next few years and aren’t looking for a management title right away.
  • You like a close-knit, in-person team that solves problems at the desk, not over email.
  • You use AI tools like Copilot, but you trust your own judgment to validate the numbers.
