Group Benefits Account Manager needed for an Insurance Agency located in North County, San Diego! Our client is seeking for an experienced Account Manager who enjoys building relationships, providing high-touch service, and taking ownership of a book of group benefits clients. You will serve as a trusted resource for business owners, HR teams, and employees, guiding renewals and managing service needs throughout the year.
HOURS: Monday – Friday; 8:30 am – 4:30 pm OR 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
DURATION: Direct Hire
WORKPLACE: 100% Remote work offered. Must reside in CA. Or if you prefer to work in-office or a hybrid schedule, there is that option.
PAY: $70,000 to $130,000 base salary, based on experience, qualifications, demonstrated skills.

Job Duties
- Provide responsive, personalized service by phone, email, video, and client meetings; anticipate needs and provide proactive check-ins throughout the year.
- Explain benefits, plan options, carrier processes, and next steps clearly and patiently.
- Resolve eligibility, enrollment, billing, claims, and carrier service issues. Advocate for clients and follow each issue through to a confirmed resolution.
- Keep clients informed while issues are pending, coordinate with carriers and general agencies, and elevate concerns promptly when additional support is needed.
- Support client retention by delivering consistent service and identifying solutions that meet each employer’s needs and budget.
- Manage benefits administration platforms like Ease and Employee Navigator, including plan setup, renewal updates, enrollment changes, reporting, and employee support.
- Coordinate enrollments, terminations, qualifying event changes, and carrier submissions; verify effective dates and completion.
- Complete timely post-implementation and renewal audits to confirm enrollment records, carrier invoices, and sold rates align. Investigate discrepancies and document corrections.
- Maintain accurate Salesforce records, client documentation, task deadlines, and follow-up notes.
- Coordinate payroll deduction information and work with client payroll contacts and platform partners as needed.
- Help clients coordinate benefits compliance requirements, notices, and deadlines with agency resources and third-party administrators.
Requirements
- Prior experience managing employer group health insurance and employee benefits accounts, preferably in an insurance agency or brokerage. Working knowledge of group medical and ancillary benefits, carrier processes, renewals, enrollment, and employer benefits administration.
- Experience with Ease and Employee Navigator is a HUGE PLUS, especially plan setup, renewals, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- Comfort with Excel, CRM systems, and learning new tools. Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Active California Life, Accident and Health insurance license; willingness to obtain and maintain the appropriate license if needed.
