About Sun Scientific

Sun Scientific is a medical device company based in Westchester County, New York. We design and manufacture the Aero-Wrap family of adjustable compression garments and related products used in the treatment of lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, lower-extremity swelling and chronic wounds. Our products are prescribed by vein specialists, wound care clinicians and lymphedema therapists across the country, and reach patients through clinical practices and durable medical equipment partners.

About the role

This is a hands-on creative leadership role. You will set the direction — and you will still be in the file. We are looking for someone who can hold brand and clinical accuracy across everything the company publishes, and who is happy to design, write and build alongside a small team rather than only reviewing their work.

You will be the bridge between clinical expertise and clear communication. Our physician advisors, product engineers and leadership will hand you technical material and unfinished ideas;
you will decide what matters, who it is for, and what it should become.

You will lead a Senior Designer & Multimedia Producer and a Marketing Operations & Digital Specialist, plus outsourced design support.

What you’ll do

Direction and standards

  • Own the visual and verbal direction of Sun Scientific, the Aero-Wrap family and our co-branded partner materials.
  • Write and maintain brand standards, and own the template systems other teams work from.
  • Art-direct and review the team’s work, giving feedback that raises the standard rather than only correcting output.
  • Approve everything that reaches a clinician, a patient or the public.

Clinical and editorial

  • Translate clinical material ‚Äî compression therapy, lymphedema, venous disease, wound care ‚Äî into accurate content for physicians, clinicians, representatives and patients.
  • Write and edit across every channel;
act as the final accuracy and claims check.
  • Own patient education, coverage and reimbursement communication, and instructions for use content.
  • Build and restructure physician conference presentations, managing versions and late revisions.

Product and launch

  • Lead branding and naming for new devices and line extensions, working with product engineering and quality.
  • Own the marketing workstream of every product launch.

Leadership

  • Manage and develop a small creative team and direct outsourced designers and agency partners.
  • Partner directly with senior leadership ‚Äî translating intent into plans, prioritizing competing requests and making calls independently.
  • Set priorities across the marketing request queue and protect the team’s capacity.

What we’re looking for

  • Prior experience of product marketing in Vein & Vascular and medical device business is a MUST.
  • 8+ years in design or creative roles, with at least 3 leading or managing others.
  • Senior judgment paired with hands-on execution. You should still be excellent in the tools.
  • A portfolio with information-dense, technical or educational work alongside brand work.
  • Strong writing and editing ‚Äî this role writes as much as it designs.
  • Presentation design skill and version-control discipline.
  • Expert Adobe Creative Cloud and strong typography, layout and hierarchy.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn a technical subject quickly and explain it accurately to a non-expert.
  • Experience managing designers and external creative partners.
  • Comfort working directly with executives and subject-matter experts.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Dobbs Ferry, NY, with occasional travel.

Nice to have

  • Medical device, healthcare, pharma, biotech or other regulated-industry experience.
  • Familiarity with instructions for use, labeling, promotional claims review or document control.
  • Video direction, photography direction or scientific illustration background.
  • Experience presenting or teaching.
  • Spanish, or bilingual production experience.
