ABOUT THE ROLE

As our first Business Development Representative, you will build the top of the funnel that powers our 2027 growth. You’ll open conversations with HR, Total Rewards, and Benefits leaders at our named target accounts in legal, banking, and technology, and support our relationships with broker partners such as WTW, HUB, and other brokers.

You’ll work alongside our account executives and leadership team, booking qualified meetings, turning marketing interest into pipeline, and keeping HubSpot clean enough that leadership trusts the forecast.

This role is ideal for a driven, coachable seller who uses AI to prospect smarter, not just harder, and wants a clear path into a closing role.

WHY JOIN US?

• Impact: Every meeting you book feeds our 2027 growth plan, and your work shows up directly in the company number.

• Growth: Learn enterprise benefits sales from senior sellers, with a path to Account Executive.

• Autonomy: Help design the outbound playbook, sequences, and messaging from the ground up.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prospect Named Accounts: Run targeted, multi-threaded outbound (email, phone, LinkedIn) into named legal, banking, and technology accounts. Reach CHROs, VPs of Total Rewards, Benefits Directors, and HR leaders.

• Book Qualified Meetings: Qualify interest against our ideal customer profile and book first meetings for account executives and leadership, with clean handoff notes.

• Support Broker & Partner Motions: Help activate relationships with WTW, HUB, and other brokers. Research their employer clients, coordinate co-selling outreach, and follow up on referrals.

• Convert Inbound Demand: Follow up quickly on demo requests, freemium sign-ups, webinar attendees, and paid campaign leads in our priority states.

• Own Your Data: Log every activity, sequence, and stage change in HubSpot so pipeline reporting stays accurate.

• Build the Playbook: Test messaging by vertical and persona, share what works, and help shape sequences, call scripts, and objection handling.

• Leverage AI to Work Smarter: Use AI tools for account research, personalization, and list building to multiply your output.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 1–3 years in B2B sales development or business development, ideally selling SaaS to HR, benefits, or enterprise buyers.

• A track record of hitting meeting and pipeline targets – you can show the numbers and explain how you got them.

• Outbound craft – you are comfortable cold calling, writing personalized emails that get replies, and selling on LinkedIn.

• Curiosity about how employers buy benefits – or the willingness to learn it fast: plan-year cycles, brokers’ role, and PEPM pricing.

• CRM discipline – HubSpot experience strongly preferred; Sales Navigator and sequencing tools a plus.

• AI-fluent – you already use AI tools to research, write, and prioritize.

• Ability to thrive in a startup environment – you are self-directed, handle rejection well, and communicate crisply across a distributed, multi-time-zone team.

• Passion for well-being & HR technology – you care about helping employees live healthier lives.

• Nice to have: Experience selling into legal, financial services, or tech; exposure to benefits brokers or health plans; a bachelor’s degree.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Competitive Compensation – Base salary plus uncapped variable pay tied to qualified meetings and sourced pipeline, with a clear promotion path to Account Executive.

• Comprehensive Company-Paid Wellness Benefits – Including premium medical, dental, and vision coverage, unlimited personal coaching, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support mental, emotional, and financial well-being.

• Flexible & Remote Work Environment – Work from anywhere within the U.S., with the autonomy to manage your schedule.

• Paid Time Off & Recharge Days – Generous PTO, company-wide wellness days, and dedicated recharge breaks to help you unplug and prevent burnout.

• 401(k) & Financial Wellness Support – Plan for your future with our 401(k) program and access to financial coaching.

• Wellness & Lifestyle Rewards – Earn rewards for participating in wellness initiatives, fitness challenges, and engagement programs.

• Professional Growth & Leadership Development – Access to executive coaching, mentorship opportunities, and sales training as you grow.

• Team Retreats & In-Person Offsites – Join us for team-building retreats, networking events, and wellness-focused offsites at inspiring locations.

• Purpose-Driven Culture – Work with a passionate, mission-driven team committed to transforming workplace wellness globally.

  • Wellness Coach is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
