Role Overview
The Data Engineer (SME) is responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of data systems that enable advanced analytics and visual intelligence. This role focuses on developing scalable data pipelines, building large relational databases, and ensuring secure and efficient data flow throughout the organization.
What You Will Do
Build and maintain data pipelines that support visual analytics applications and high-performance data processing. Transform structured and semi-structured data into usable, actionable information. Design and construct large enterprise relational databases and ensure they perform efficiently.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The SME will also work on integrating new data systems with existing platforms and transform structured and semi-structured data into valuable insights. Experience with government or multi-enclave data environments, data visualization platforms or visual analytics applications, and cloud data platforms or hybrid architectures is a plus.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related areas
- Strong experience with relational databases, SQL, and large-scale data design
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines for structured and semi-structured data
- Familiarity with analytics, visualization technologies, and high-performance or distributed computing
- Experience integrating new systems with enterprise data warehouses
- Understanding of secure data practices and zero trust principles
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
