The Accounting Branch is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Financial Accounting Control framework, including: financial accounting policies, procedures, and processes; financial audits and controls; and ensuring the proper recording of financial transactions and compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAB). As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, providing financial advice, and reporting on the city’s accounts.
Requirements
- Completion of 3 year certificate or diploma in Business Administration or Financial Management
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting environment
- Knowledge of SAP, microcomputer systems and applications, accounting principles, organizational structure and responsibilities of the city, city account code structure, and applicable health and safety legislation
