Role Overview
Reporting to Head of MMB & NBFI, the Business Development Manager will build and maintain a portfolio of Banks / NBFI clients in developed markets, targeting long-term business growth and profitability.
What You Will Do
The role involves building relationships with customers, identifying opportunities for business growth, cross-product sales, and developing strategies to align new products/solutions with market needs and client demands.

Requirements
- Proven experience in client-facing sales to Financial Institutions
- Track record of sales success
- Ability to source leads, find opportunities, create, build and manage a pipeline
- Commercially driven with a market-focused network
- Leadership qualities demonstrated in driving product, brand, and team development
- Clear understanding of foreign exchange, markets, and how to sell FX
- Understanding of the payment market, leading FI’s, types of payments, and integration capabilities
- Experience of derivatives is an advantage
- Understanding of money markets and interest-bearing products forwards, swaps, BaaS, safeguard accounts, and regulatory requirements
- Appetite to work in a target-driven role at a client and portfolio level
- Confident in building relationships from cold, attend events, network in the market to build the bank’s brand and drive to capture market share
- High level of competency in using Excel, PowerPoint, and both written and verbal presentation skills
- Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) practices
- Proven experience of ability to learn new products and concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address customer issues and improve processes
- Understanding of sales principles and techniques to identify and capitalise on business opportunities
- A customer-oriented mindset to prioritise clients’ needs to ensure good client outcomes
- Ability to work collaboratively with different departments to achieve common goals
- Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and customer requirements
- Articulate ideas clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
- Deep understanding of the sector, including trends, challenges, and opportunities
