Data Engineer

Join Manulife as a Data Engineer to enable the building, maintenance, enhancements, and support of new and existing Azure data pipelines. Collaborate with team members to understand data, propose technology improvements, and cultivate strong relationships with various teams and partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of previous data engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience working in enabling Azure related data technologies
• Solid understanding of Azure infrastructure, Azure AD, Azure security principles, network concepts, password/credential/key management, and data protection
• Bachelor’s in computer/IT or data related fields required. Master’s degree is a plus
• Excellent knowledge of Data visualization: PowerBI
• Strong hands on knowledge of Azure Databricks, ADF, ADLS, Synapse Serverless/dedicated/spark pools, Python, PySpark, and T-SQL
• High proficiency in GIT/Jenkins/dev ops processes
• Knowledge of implementing Azure technologies and networking via terraform
• Good understanding of data modeling/data marts/Lake house architecture, SCD, data mesh, and delta lake
• Solid understanding of data privacy and compliance regulations and standard methodologies for preserving customer data
