Traffic Data Analyst – City

The Traffic Data Analyst will monitor traffic count activities, make onsite inspections of traffic problems, and explain ordinances to citizens. The position requires knowledge of City Codes and Ordinances and State Traffic Control regulations. The Traffic Data Analyst will work under the general direction of a supervisor and will be responsible for recommending feasible solutions to traffic control problems through the submission of routine reports.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to perform specialized or complex traffic studies and field inspections
  • Knowledge of City Codes and Ordinances and State Traffic Control regulations
  • Skill in following verbal and written instructions
  • Skill in recording information accurately
  • Ability to communicate verbally using tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to compile, assess and work accurately with large quantities of traffic data
  • Ability to draw basic field diagrams
  • Ability to interpret and apply City Codes and Ordinances and State Traffic Control regulations to work performed
  • Ability to maintain accurate files of traffic data transactions
  • Ability to write reports and other correspondence based on field inspections or data assessed
