Staff Data Scientist, Machine Learning in Epidemiology and Patient Data Products

We are seeking a Staff Data Scientist, Machine Learning in Epidemiology and Patient Data Products to join our team at Valo Health. As a senior member of our team, you will lead the development of machine learning methods and analyses of patient data with diverse stakeholders. You will work with a diverse group of scientists and domain experts, in ways that cut across traditional industry boundaries in an innovative startup environment.

Requirements

• MS, MPH, or PhD in health data science, biostatistics, or a related quantitative field
• 5 years of experience developing and applying ML methods
• 3 years of experience working directly with real-world patient data
• Experience in a biopharmaceutical, epidemiological or biostatistical setting
• Extensive experience developing and implementing machine learning solutions in healthcare databases
• Familiarity with U.S. and global medical coding ontologies and data models
• Confident working with highly sparse and high-dimensional data
• Experience processing and mining clinical notes
• Experience building, maintaining, and operationalizing ML pipelines
• Mastery of Python and modern data science tools
