GET TO KNOW YOUR AREA:

The APAC Business Development & Licensing Manager will lead the identification, negotiation, and implementation of licensing, collaboration, and partnership opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region, in alignment with Envu’s global strategy and regional growth priorities. The role is primarily focused on executing commercial licensing and partnership agreements, while selectively supporting developmentstage agreements when required to enable future commercialization and long-term portfolio growth.

YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:

  • Lead business development activities across the APAC region by proactively scouting and originating new opportunities, as well as evaluating opportunities introduced through external channels, in line with agreed strategies and comprehensive landscape analyses.
  • Initiate, lead, and manage the end-to-end evaluation of business opportunities through Envu’s established governance and approval processes, adapting process flows as needed to meet organizational and regional requirements.
  • Lead, steer, or support complex licensing, collaboration, and contract negotiations, working cross-functionally with Global and Regional portfolio, Legal, IP, Finance, Accounting, Tax, Transaction, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure strategic, commercial, and contractual alignment.
  • Provide structured deal support and analysis for Deal Teams, including preparation of presentation materials, business overviews, high-level financial assessments, strategic fit evaluations, and executive-level summaries to support informed decision-making.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain a robust external network across Envu’s core Environmental Science disciplines and market segments.
  • Ensure all agreements and transactions are structured in compliance with Envu’s governance frameworks, approval processes, and financial thresholds.
  • Drive deal implementation and post-execution follow-up to ensure effective execution, accountability, and value realization.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support evolving business priorities.
  • Serve as a cultural and professional role model within the business development organization, helping shape work ethic, values, and external engagement standards through personal example and leadership

ARE YOU READY FOR THE ROLE?

Main requirements:

Required

  • Proven experience working with multinational and cross-cultural teams in the APAC region.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, licensing, portfolio, or commercial roles.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze markets, assess opportunities, and build compelling business cases.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and manage multiple opportunities in parallel.

Preferred

  • Fluent Mandarin speaker (spoken and written); ability to conduct negotiations and business discussions in Mandarin is essential.
  • MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, or a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Experience within Environmental Science, Crop Protection, Non-Crop, Biologicals, or related industries.

  • Internal: Global Portfolio team, APAC Commercial Leadership, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain & Operations, Legal, IP, and Finance.

  • External: Creates / maintains a worldwide network with all relevant competitive companies and partners for defined segments and regions
