National Account Manager-Vegetation Management

Job Overview:

The National Account Manager for Federal and Emergency Response contracts is responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening strategic customer relationships, and supporting the successful delivery of federal and state vegetation management services within complex public-sector and large-scale service markets across the United States. This position drives business development, account management, contract acquisition, and customer engagement efforts while serving as a key liaison between customers, operational leadership, and executive management.

The National Account Manager identifies, qualifies, and pursues opportunities that align with ArborWorks' core service offerings, with a primary focus on government-funded, natural resource, emergency response, land management, and infrastructure-related programs. The role oversees the development of strategic customer relationships, drives competitive pricing efforts, and helps position ArborWorks for long-term success within federal and state contracting environments. While primarily focused on public-sector opportunities, the position maintains the flexibility to support emerging markets and strategic growth initiatives as business needs evolve.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and pursue new federal, state, municipal, and public-sector business opportunities.
  • Build and manage relationships with government agencies, contracting officers, program managers, and strategic partners.
  • Lead capture planning and support opportunities from identification through contract award.
  • Monitor government procurement opportunities, funding programs, and industry trends.
  • Review RFPs, RFQs, SOWs, task orders, and contract requirements.
  • Partner with Operations and Estimating to develop competitive pricing, staffing, equipment, and bid strategies.
  • Support proposal development, contract negotiations, onboarding, and implementation.
  • Manage strategic customer relationships and identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline, forecasts, account strategies, and business development reporting.
  • Represent ArborWorks at customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and industry events.

What We are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in vegetation management, forestry, natural resources, infrastructure services, environmental services, account management, business development, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and managing strategic customer relationships.
  • Experience with proposal development, contract acquisition, capture management, or business growth.
  • Experience working with federal, state, municipal, utility, or other public-sector customers strongly preferred .
  • Knowledge of government procurement and contracting processes preferred.
  • Strong business development, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with estimating, cost analysis, and pricing strategies.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including overnight travel.

Work Environment

  • Regional travel required, up to 75%
  • Combination of field and office work
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel regularly
  • Reasonable accommodations available

Preferred: Experience with federal contracting, FAR, IDIQ/task-order contracts, wildfire mitigation, emergency response, disaster recovery, or vegetation management. ISA Certified Arborist or related industry certification is a plus.
