About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development and Communications Officer to lead its comprehensive fundraising, communications, marketing, and external engagement efforts. The successful candidate will be a strategic and entrepreneurial executive with a proven track record in integrated fundraising and communications within mission-driven organizations. Key responsibilities include serving as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team, developing and implementing a multi-year development and communications strategy, and representing the organization with various stakeholders. The role demands a leader with at least 15 years of progressive experience in development, advancement, and related functions, who can demonstrate success in leading comprehensive fundraising programs and securing significant philanthropic investments.

The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to the mission of the organization, which is focused on ending homelessness and housing insecurity. They should possess strong relationship-building skills, the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders, and experience in managing high-performing teams. The Chief Development and Communications Officer will be responsible for advancing the organization's visibility, reputation, and long-term sustainability, and will work closely with the Board of Directors to strengthen philanthropic support. A bachelor's degree is preferred, with an advanced degree in a relevant field considered advantageous. Professional certifications such as CFRE are welcomed but not required. The role is pivotal in driving the next phase of growth for the organization and will be measured by increased philanthropic investment, greater visibility, and a more significant impact on the communities served.
