Sales Manager – Off-Price

Our client, an apparel company, is looking for a Sales Manager to join their kid’s team to work on off-price accounts in NYC!

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute sales plans by account to support seasonal sales, revenue, and growth goals.
  • Develop account-specific strategies and seasonal plans to maximize sales volume, profitability, and customer growth.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with key retail and off-price accounts, partnering with buyers and merchants to identify opportunities and grow the business.
  • Analyze sales performance, account activity, and market trends to evaluate results and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Identify new product opportunities and white-space opportunities based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive activity.
  • Support new business development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand into new accounts and sales channels.
  • Stay current on kids’ apparel and retail trends, using market knowledge to inform account and product strategies.
  • Lead, train, and motivate sales team members, providing guidance and support to help achieve individual and team goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, and Production teams to ensure products meet customer needs and sales objectives.
  • Monitor key business metrics, including sales, gross profit, inventory, and account performance, and take action to support financial goals.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and account updates to management and internal teams.
  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships while identifying opportunities to increase business year over year.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience within kids’ apparel, with strong wholesale and off-price experience.
  • Proven experience managing retail accounts and building relationships with buyers and merchandising teams.
  • Strong understanding of kids’ apparel, wholesale business, retail trends, product development, pricing, and margins.
  • Previous experience mentoring or managing sales team members with the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented with strong account management and business development skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong team player who works effectively with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, Production, and other cross-functional teams.
