About the Role

This position combines relationship management, technical sales, and project coordination. You’ll be involved early in the construction planning process, working with architects, contractors, and building owners to understand project requirements and recommend appropriate elevator solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial construction market, developing relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, and building owners.
  • Generate leads, maintain an active sales pipeline, and build long-term customer relationships throughout the assigned territory.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, design discussions, customer presentations, and early-stage project planning.
  • Review construction drawings, project specifications, schedules, and site requirements to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
  • Develop and present sales proposals, communicating product capabilities, project costs, and overall value to prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with operations and technical teams to evaluate project scope, pricing, labor requirements, and installation logistics.
  • Negotiate contracts and scopes of work while coordinating with internal sales support, operations, and legal teams as needed.
  • Manage customer follow-up throughout the bidding and sales process to help secure new installation contracts.
  • Coordinate project handoffs, submittal packages, and change orders following contract award.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, sales activities, and pipeline updates within the company’s CRM system.
  • Partner with operations teams throughout project execution to support customer satisfaction, project timelines, and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1–2+ years of experience in business development, outside sales, construction sales, technical sales, or a related field.
  • Sales experience within the elevator industry or a related field, such as commercial construction, HVAC, mechanical contracting, building automation, electrical systems, fire protection, industrial equipment, or other construction-related products and services.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, building owners, or other commercial construction stakeholders.
  • Understanding of construction sales cycles, bidding processes, estimating, proposals, or contract negotiations.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical product information, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities, prioritize deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous elevator industry experience, particularly in new installation, modernization, service, or repair sales, is strongly preferred but not required.
