Mine Planning Engineer, Operational Growth

Role Overview

The Mine Planning Engineer will play a technical role in supporting the operation team with mine plans during the construction and execution phase. The role involves reviewing sites’ execution plans, evaluating confidence levels, and identifying opportunities to mitigate risks or improve.

What You Will Do

Develop, review, and update short- and medium-term mine plans during project construction and execution phases, collaborate with Study and Construction Teams, assess site execution plans, and provide technical support and mining expertise for Ontario regional projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of underground and/or open pit mining operations, experience using mine planning software, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Requirements

• Mining Engineering Degree, Technical Diploma, Trade Certificate, or equivalent related education
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant mining experience, including at least 5 years of mine planning experience
• Strong understanding of underground and/or open pit mining operations
• Experience using mine planning software such as Deswik, Datamine, or other industry-standard applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify operational risks and opportunities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project and operational environment
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
• Willingness to travel regularly to Ontario operations and project sites
