Senior Specialist Financial Planning

Valterra Platinum, a leading primary producer of platinum group metals, is seeking a Senior Specialist Financial Planning. The successful candidate will provide long-term financial performance insight, analyse trends and drivers, and provide analytical input into business planning discussions. The role requires 5-7 years’ experience in techno-economic modelling and/or investment evaluation.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Sciences, Engineering or other relevant qualification
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in techno-economic modelling and/or investment evaluation
• Experience in mining, processing, capital‐intensive or resource industries (advantageous)
• Knowledge of and experience in investment evaluation principles applied to the mining and processing value chain
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and performance management
• Strong understanding of Consolidated financial statements
• Knowledge of international standards and industry best practice regarding spreadsheet modelling and software development principles
• Experience working with financial software solutions with extensive experience in financial analysis
• Ability to synthesise complex and diverse data sets into clear, coherent narratives that provide meaningful insight and support effective decision‐making by senior stakeholders
• Excellent financial acumen
• Experience in design and implementation of long-term financial models including financial statement modelling
• Scenario analysis skills applicable to a techno-economic environment coupled with strong reconciliation, diagnostic and variance analysis capability
• High proficiency in financial models, planning systems and Excel‐based analytics
