Business Development Manager

Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will expand Carta’s distribution and market share by helping to deepen working relationships with key channel partners and developing relationships with new ones. You will represent Carta as a valuable contributor to the Venture Capital ecosystem, helping to drive venture capital-backed companies to Carta.

What You Will Do

You will create champions for Carta’s products within the VC ecosystem in the UK and Europe by partnering with, developing scalable strategies for, and engaging with partners that support VC-backed companies. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, Engineering, Implementations, Support, Sales, and Marketing to collect feedback from the industry, relay internally, and drive cross-functional conversations and roadmap for a strategy on deepening our mutual client penetration with preferred partners.

Why It Might Be a Fit

You will lead discovery on additional paths for Carta to add value to our partners to drive new business to Carta. You will drive non-linear referral motions with these partners to reliably drive a 50%+ increase in referrals. You will create awareness of Carta’s product for VC-backed companies, including identifying and attending conferences and other industry events.

Requirements

• An outgoing, natural networker with experience in building and maintaining relationships
• Knowledge of the VC Ecosystem in the UK, including legal firms, accelerators, VCs and the broader industry
• Familiarity with cap tables and venture-backed fundraising
• Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience attending industry events
