Experienced – Azure Data Engineer Synapse

Role Overview

We are looking for a consultant/senior consultant to work in a hybrid mode in the Digital, AI Controls & Algorithms team of Deloitte in Milan and Rome. The team is responsible for designing and implementing data engineering, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions on the cloud.

What You Will Do

Designing and developing data ingestion, integration, and transformation pipelines on Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. Developing relational and dimensional data models on Synapse Dedicated and Serverless SQL Pool.

You will contribute to the realization of end-to-end data platforms on Azure, working on high-visibility projects in the Industrial Product, Consumer, Energy, and Public Sector areas. You will interact with the project team and with the client to analyze business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and document developed architectures and data flows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or STEM-related disciplines
• At least 2 years of experience in Data Engineer roles on cloud Azure
• Solid practical experience on Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Azure SQL Database
• Excellent knowledge of advanced SQL, Python/PySpark, data modeling, and familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and Azure DevOps
• Good knowledge of web service integration methods (API, Postman, get/post)
• Knowledge of data governance principles, data security (Purview, Key Vault, Managed Identity), and excellent written and spoken English skills
• Knowledge of data visualization and presentation tools of the Microsoft stack (Analysis Services, Power BI, Power App, Fabric)
• Experience with project management methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, team work attitude, and willingness to travel in case of project needs

Benefits

• Salary between EUR 33,000 and EUR 37,500 gross per year for the Consultant grade, and between EUR 39,000 and EUR 49,000 gross per year for the Senior Consultant grade
