Lead Data Engineer

Role Overview

The Data & Insights Team at Liberis is building data platforms and analytics to enable data-informed decisions across the company. The team is made up of three functions: Data Platform Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and Data & Business Intelligence. The Lead Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain resilient data pipelines, build and operate ML feature pipelines, and own the operational health of systems.

What You Will Do

Design, build, and maintain resilient data pipelines, build and operate ML feature pipelines, own the operational health of systems, collaborate with analytics engineers, partner with the AI/ML platform team, identify and execute optimisation work, mentor junior engineers, participate in technical decisions, and work cross-functionally with product teams.

The role requires proven experience in data engineering, hands-on experience building Modern Data Stack architectures, strong Python programming, fluent SQL, experience with cloud data platforms, and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools. Bonus points for experience with DLT, Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, Kafka, Pub/Sub, or event streaming platforms, and experience scaling data systems from 0 to 100M+ events/day.
