Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager will lead day-to-day sales operations across our flagship Pacific Northwest markets, directly managing the account executives and sales coordinators who serve Seattle (The Stranger) and Portland (Portland Mercury). This is a hands-on, player-coach role focused on hitting revenue targets, developing a high-performing team, and selling Noisy Creek’s full portfolio of advertising, sponsorship, events, and ticketing products.
What You Will Do
Own regional revenue targets, drive sales strategy and execution, coach to results, manage key relationships, partner with Publishers, maintain forecasting and reporting, and champion the products.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building a sales strategy and getting in the field to close business alongside the team. This is an opportunity to lead sales for two of the most beloved alternative weeklies in the country while helping build a profitable, sustainable model that strengthens civic life in the Pacific Northwest.
Requirements
- 7+ years of media, advertising, or comparable B2B sales experience, including at least 3 years managing or leading a sales team.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets, with the ability to set quotas and hold a team accountable to them.
- Strong sales coaching and people-development skills — a genuine player-coach who can both mentor reps and sell.
- Comfort selling across a multiplatform portfolio (digital, print, newsletter, social, events, and ticketing); cross-channel and event sales experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with CRM and sales reporting tools, and an analytical, data-driven approach to pipeline and forecasting.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with advertisers, agencies, and partners at all levels.
- Adaptable, entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and is willing to roll up sleeves in a lean organization.
- Mission alignment: belief in the civic and cultural importance of alternative media and community-rooted journalism.
