Role Overview

The Logistics Business Development Representative is responsible for soliciting freight orders from customers by phone, email, and other means. They will meet with key clients, develop relationships, and negotiate deals. The role requires regular travel nationally to call upon customers and deliver sales presentations.

What You Will Do

Solicit committed and non-committed freight orders from a designated customer base, develop and maintain strong customer relationships, and keep customers informed of delivery status. Record customer complaints and remedy them to maximize customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3-5 years of work experience in the transportation industry, operations, customer service, direct with customer service solicitation, inside sales or outside sales
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Excel and the Internet
