Role Overview
The Sales and Business Development Executive will be the commercial engine that opens new territories, builds relationships, and closes deals to expand access to clean energy across Nigeria. This is a player-coach role that requires autonomy and accountability.
What You Will Do
Key responsibilities include mapping and prioritizing untapped geographic markets, developing entry strategies, building and managing a portfolio of accounts, and negotiating deals. The role also involves leading a small sales team, setting targets, and providing structured feedback.

Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to open new markets
- Prior experience in the energy sector, especially solar and off-grid systems
- Proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Existing relationships within target sectors (construction, agriculture, hospitality, NGOs, government procurement)
- Ability to negotiate contracts with confidence
- Familiarity with CRM tools for pipeline tracking
- Experience coaching or mentoring others to hit sales targets
- Knowledge of off-grid project economics
- Comfort operating across multiple customer segments simultaneously
- Experience working across multiple Nigerian geopolitical zones
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Conversational proficiency in at least one regional Nigerian language
- Self-directed and disciplined with pipeline management
- Ability to build trust quickly in unfamiliar markets and communities
