Senior Capital Raiser | Asset Management | Asia (ex Japan)

Heelside Consulting is retained to find a senior capital raiser for a specialist alternative asset manager.

The business runs differentiated strategies across insurance linked and other esoteric alternatives. It is entrepreneurial, growing quickly and approaching a public listing.

The person joining will have the opportunity to help build the capital raising capability, shape where the firm focuses, work directly with the leadership team and become an important part of the next stage of growth.

For someone who enjoys having real ownership, rather than simply operating within a large established sales structure, this should be a very attractive opportunity.

There is also meaningful upside. Compensation is strongly linked to capital raised and there is the opportunity to participate in equity as the business develops.

The role

The position is based in Singapore.

The focus is on raising capital from sovereign wealth funds, family offices, private banks and institutional investors across Asia and the Middle East. You will be expected to use your relationships, build new ones and take investors from the first conversation through to allocation.

The strategies are differentiated so an holistic view of markets would be useful as having the experience and gravitas to educate the market will. be important. You will own the process and have a real say in how the firm approaches different markets and investors.

We are particularly interested in people with strong relationships across Singapore, Hong Kong, wider Asia.

The profile

We are less concerned with title and more interested in your actual experience. Ideally, you will have:

• A strong personal track record of raising capital for specialist or alternative strategies

• Relationships with genuine decision makers

• The ability to explain more complex strategies clearly and credibly

• Experience working in a smaller or entrepreneurial business

• The hunger and commercial instinct to keep originating new opportunities
