Business Development Manager/ Director (Payment Solutions)

Role Overview

Drive regional B2B sales of our payment platform, acquiring enterprise clients and scaling adoption in a fast‑paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire and close enterprise clients across key verticals: e‑commerce, education (cross‑border tuition), gaming, SaaS, and cross‑border payroll/remittance
• Own the full sales cycle: prospecting → pitching → solutioning → negotiation → onboarding
• Structure commercial models to maximise transaction volume and product reach
• Partner with product/engineering teams to translate customer needs into feature enhancements
• Nurture long‑term relationships with SME‑to‑IPO clients; conduct quarterly business reviews and drive upsell opportunities
• Monitor market trends, compliance requirements, and competitive landscape to refine go‑to‑market strategy and pricing
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline forecasts and report KPIs/revenue metrics to senior management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field 2+ years B2B sales/BD experience in payment services (mandatory)
• Strong understanding of payment workflows, API integrations, settlement, and merchant onboarding
• Proven track record selling to medium/large enterprises, SaaS platforms, and high‑growth companies
• Experience selling to the education sector (schools/universities) is highly preferred
• Strong commercial negotiation and partnership skills
• Startup mindset: hands‑on, agile, and comfortable with change
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Willing to travel regionally as needed
