Perry Weather, headquartered in Dallas, TX, is the weather safety standard for organizations that operate outdoors. The company combines on-site hardware with a software platform that automates alerts, siren activations, and safety decisions for more than 3,000 organizations — ranging from the PGA of America, the NFL, and MLB to Turner Construction, thousands of school districts, cities, and golf courses. Following five consecutive years of 80%+ annual growth, Perry Weather is now seeking a Director, Product Marketing to lead its next phase of commercial expansion.
Director, Product Marketing at Perry Weather: Dallas, TX
This full-time, in-office role is positioned at a strategic inflection point for the business. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of high autonomy and high accountability — finding problems and opportunities and working urgently to solve them. The leader will be equally comfortable setting strategy, talking to customers, and writing the messaging for the next launch, translating complex hardware and software capabilities into compelling platform value propositions.
Core Responsibilities and Strategic Focus
The Director will own the product marketing function end-to-end, leading how Perry Weather’s value is understood across markets. Responsibilities span four key areas:
- Positioning & Messaging: Own the product story across software, hardware, alerts, and data. Develop messaging for distinct buyers and use cases — from a high school athletic director to a construction EHS leader — and maintain the messaging hierarchy across the website, product pages, and launch materials.
- Go-to-Market & Launches: Set the GTM strategy for major product and feature launches, from audience definition through post-launch analysis. Align Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success around launch priorities and scale each launch to match its business impact.
- Customer & Market Insight: Understand buyer roles, purchasing triggers, decision processes, governing body requirements, and competitive alternatives. Translate these insights into actionable sales tools and roadmap inputs.
- Scaling the Function: Build the priorities, processes, and resources needed to scale product marketing in step with the business as Perry Weather enters new verticals and moves upmarket.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in product marketing within B2B SaaS, technology, or integrated hardware/software environments.
- Leadership: Proven track record of building and scaling a product marketing function while remaining close to execution.
- Expertise: Demonstrated success crafting differentiated positioning and leading major product launches with measurable impact.
- Communication: Exceptional storytelling ability, translating technical capabilities into clear customer value.
- Technical Acumen: Practical experience leveraging AI tools to enhance research, analysis, and content workflows.
- Location: Based in Dallas or willing to relocate for a fully in-office working arrangement.
Benefits and Workplace Culture
Perry Weather offers a highly collaborative, in-person environment at its Oak Lawn office at The Centrum, where teams work together daily to help organizations make faster, safer decisions when weather puts people, assets, and operations at risk. Employees receive competitive health insurance, a 401(k) with employer matching, and a comprehensive suite of voluntary benefits. The company also fosters an engaging culture through monthly All-Hands meetings, team events, and professional development opportunities.
Application Tips for Product Marketing Leaders
- Build a Positioning Portfolio: Prepare a concise portfolio demonstrating past go-to-market strategies, messaging frameworks, and launch performance metrics — showing how you translated technical features into buyer-centric value propositions.
- Demonstrate Cross-Functional Fluency: Be ready to discuss specific examples of aligning Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams, including your methodology for gathering qualitative customer insights and turning them into sales enablement tools.
- Highlight AI Proficiency: Detail the specific tools and workflows you have integrated into your marketing operations, such as using large language models for competitive analysis or automated research synthesis.
- Research the Safety and Compliance Landscape: Familiarize yourself with governing body requirements and purchasing triggers relevant to Perry Weather’s core verticals, including athletic regulations, construction safety standards, and municipal emergency protocols.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how a rapidly scaling organization communicates its value across both core and emerging markets — connecting what Perry Weather builds to why buyers care. For professionals ready to make a tangible impact on commercial growth at a high-performing, mission-driven company, this position warrants careful consideration.
