About Pomo

Pomo is a Silicon Valley startup backed by leading investors, combining an AI marketing platform with hands-on expertise to help businesses grow through paid ads, social content, SEO, AI-search visibility, and more. Our team handles setup and day-to-day execution, making marketing simpler and more accessible for businesses.

Founded by engineers from Google DeepMind, Meta, and Databricks, we’re looking for a driven GTM associate to help grow our customer base in New York.

About the role

You’ll work directly with the founders to find prospective customers, start conversations, and close new business. This is a hands-on role centered on cold calling, outbound outreach, and meeting business owners in person.

You should be comfortable walking into local businesses, introducing yourself, understanding their marketing needs, and explaining how Pomo can help. You’ll also test different customer segments and sales approaches to help us build a repeatable go-to-market process.

What you’ll do

  • Identify prospective customers and build targeted outreach lists.
  • Make cold calls and reach prospects through email, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
  • Visit businesses across New York through walk-ins and scheduled meetings.
  • Build relationships with owners and decision-makers.
  • Run sales meetings and demos, prepare proposals, and follow up to close customers.
  • Attend relevant local events and build referral opportunities.
  • Test messaging, offers, and customer segments with the founders.
  • Keep your pipeline and next steps organized in our CRM.
  • Work toward agreed targets for outreach, meetings, and sales.
  • Share customer feedback to improve our product, services, and positioning.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with business owners.
  • Comfort with cold calling, in-person prospecting, and handling objections.
  • Persistence and consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to explain Pomo’s value clearly and ask for the sale.
  • A self-directed approach and willingness to test new ideas.
  • Availability to travel around New York City for customer visits and events.

Experience in sales, business development, field sales, or an early-stage startup is a plus. Experience selling marketing services or software to small and medium-sized businesses is especially relevant. Demonstrated ability matters more than a particular degree.
