Role Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving strategic growth across all CapWest Group of Companies entities, including identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Find and pursue new opportunities, build and carry out growth strategies, track market trends, build and maintain relationships with clients and industry stakeholders, and represent CapWest at industry events.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 to 5 years in business development, preconstruction, estimating, project management, operations, or client-facing roles, and a strong track record of building pipeline early and getting in front of decision-makers ahead of tender.
Requirements
- 7 to 10+ years in the construction industry
- at least 3 to 5 years in business development, preconstruction, estimating, project management, operations, or client-facing roles
- experience across multiple construction scopes
- established relationships with GCs, developers, CMs, and consultants in BC, especially the Lower Mainland
- a track record of building pipeline early and getting in front of decision-makers ahead of tender
- experience cross-selling additional services into existing accounts
- solid commercial understanding
- comfort working hand in hand with estimating and operations
- hands-on experience maintaining a real CRM pipeline with forecasting and reporting
- active involvement in BC construction associations and industry networks
- experience working with First Nations communities or on Indigenous partnership projects
- background at a multi-division or self-perform contractor
- existing relationships with developer procurement and preconstruction teams in Metro Vancouver
