Role Overview
Homeward is looking for an Analytics Engineer to help build, strengthen, and scale the data foundation that powers decision-making across the business. The role is ideal for someone who is a confident, self-sufficient data professional with deep experience in data modeling and a passion for turning complex data into reliable, usable products.
What You Will Do
The Analytics Engineer will own critical pieces of our data pipeline and architecture, partner closely with analysts, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure our data is accurate, dependable, and easy to consume. A major focus of this role will be data reliability and scalability.

Requirements
- Strong experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar data-focused role
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and dimensional data modeling
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining production data models and semantic layers using dbt
- Experience owning or supporting data ingestion and transformation pipelines, including diagnosing failures and improving pipeline reliability
- Experience designing data architecture that balances scalability, maintainability, usability, and business needs
- Experience with AWS or a comparable cloud data environment
- Experience with modern BI and analytics tools such as Looker, Hex, Tableau, or equivalent platforms
- Working knowledge of Python and orchestration tools such as Airflow
- Understanding of data governance principles, including metric definitions, data quality, documentation, lineage, and access
- Familiarity with modern AI/LLM applications and AI-enabled data tooling, with an understanding of how data architecture needs to evolve to support AI use cases
