Head of Data Strategy and Platform

Role Overview

The Head of Data Strategy and Platform is accountable for defining and executing the country’s data strategy, data architecture roadmap, data governance framework, and enterprise data platform build-out. The role will lead the establishment of a modern, scalable, secure and compliant data ecosystem that supports regulatory reporting, business intelligence, advanced analytics, AI innovation, automation and sustainable business growth.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include defining and executing the India Data Strategy, establishing a long-term roadmap for data architecture, governance, platform modernisation and data-driven innovation, leading the design and implementation of India’s enterprise data platform, and ensuring platform designs meet requirements relating to availability, resilience, performance, security and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience
• Extensive experience in building enterprise level data domain, data platforms and data querying solutions
• Deep understanding of the data integrity, lineage, dictionary and data domain definition requirements
• Strong understanding of banking domain, operational processes and controls including sensitive data management and access controls
• Strong background in leading and managing a global workforce covering Operations and Technology domains within international firm/organisation
• Stays current in knowledge with a focus on the future of technology
• Self-motivated leader with a growth mindset
• Advanced level communicator, with ability to influence and manage stakeholders from various seniority and backgrounds, preferably with international exposure
• Highly innovative and current in application of human centred design principles
• Leads on ‘agile’ as a way of working and proven experience transforming tech organisations to agile
• Builds a culture and environment that attracts and retains top technology talent including driving hard on Diversity and Inclusion
• Extensive leadership experience in enterprise data strategy, data architecture and large-scale data platform transformation
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management and data lineage frameworks
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud and modern data platform solutions
• Deep understanding of regulatory reporting and control environments within financial services
• Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations and governance requirements
• Experience working across business, operations and technology organisations
• Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level
• Strong programme leadership and change management capabilities
• Experience within global banking or financial services organisations
• Exposure to AI, advanced analytics and data science enablement platforms
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance and privacy operating models
• Relevant Degree qualification required
• Relevant certifications in data management, data architecture, privacy or cloud technologies
