The Geospatial Data Analyst is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in location analytics to inform the organization’s data and analytics strategy, and for establishing appropriate data standards for spatial and non-spatial data, proactively identifying analytical opportunities and providing recommendations that improve all elements of the data analysis process and increase analytical capacity throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Completion of a four (4) year university degree in geography, geomatics, computer science, or a related program with emphasis in geographic information systems.
- Minimum of three years (3) of experience working with geospatial data collection, interpretation, and analysis, including demonstrated experience as a technical leader and subject matter expert.
- Confident and experienced in gathering requirements and presenting solutions to management and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with ESRI enterprise technology (including Desktop, Online, Server, web apps, mobile apps, and creating sites with ArcGIS Open Data Hub).
- Experience prototyping and requirements analysis and implementing enterprise-level systems.
- Experience with ETL tools such as FME (Feature Manipulation Engine).
- Integrating data from a variety of sources (SQL Server, Flat files, XML, GIS, APIs, Web Services).
- Experience in creating, maintaining data models, and associated meta data.
- Open data design and delivery experience.
