Role Overview
The Financial Operations Manager oversees accounting, budget, disbursements, and financial reporting functions in the Department of Finance. The position leads the Grant/Successor Agency/Debt/Public Utilities Accounting sections and is responsible for all accounting transactions, financial statements, and related reports.
What You Will Do
The Financial Operations Manager will apply new and existing Governmental Accounting Standards, prepare the Schedule of Federal Awards, and present financial information to City Council and related committees.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in preparation and administration of operating and/or capital budgets, Government Accounting and Reporting, and Enterprise Resource Planning systems. They will also have strong quantitative analytical abilities, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to navigate a political environment.
Requirements
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or a related field;
- A master’s degree and/or an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate is highly desirable;
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience;
- Municipal government experience, accounting, and grant management experience are highly desired;
