Role Overview

As a Data Platform Engineer at Gini, you will build and operate the data foundation that powers our services, ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and performance. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure solutions, distributed data systems, and developer experience.

You will own and operate data platform components, ensure reliability and high availability, drive security and standardization, optimize performance, automate data operations, collaborate with developers, and contribute to incident response and stability.

Requirements

• Experience in operating, maintaining, and providing databases and data stores such as PostgreSQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, NoSQL databases, or other distributed data systems
• Solid understanding of high availability, replication, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and operating reliable production-grade data platforms
• Development experience in Java and/or Golang and proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language
• Understanding of storage systems and concepts, performance tuning, query optimization, and the operational challenges of distributed data platforms at scale
• Security-by-default mindset and familiarity with security best practices for data systems
• Analytical approach to problems, ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems, and proactive drive for improvements
