Data Scientist

Role Overview

The Data Scientist will combine traditional data science and machine learning with technical research into areas such as generative AI, agentic systems, and large language models. The role will involve working with large, unstructured datasets and applying various exploratory data analysis techniques and processes to these datasets.

What You Will Do

Research and develop solutions to complex business problems, working with large, unstructured datasets. Apply various exploratory data analysis techniques and processes to these datasets. Partner with business stakeholders and Product Owners to fully understand your customers and align your work to their requirements.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have experience in creating, deploying and tuning complex, non linear predictive models to solve business problems using Python and associated Data Science tooling. They will also have experience working with big data concepts, strategies, methodologies, predictive modelling, gen ai and some elements of research.

Requirements

• A third level qualification in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or another quantitative field.
• A minimum of two years’ postgraduate relevant Data Science experience in a commercial environment or completed a PhD with research experience in a Data Science role.
• Experience in creating, deploying and tuning complex, non linear predictive models to solve business problems using Python and associated Data Science tooling.
• Experience working with big data concepts, strategies, methodologies, predictive modelling, gen ai and some elements of research.
• Experience in technical communication with peers and non technical stakeholders.
