Role Overview

The Deputy Assistant Director will oversee the administration of the American Rescue Plan State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) grant and FEMA Public Assistance (PA) budget, ensuring revenue recognition meets generally accepted accounting principles. The team is responsible for forecasting and tracking cash receipts, and ensuring revenue recognition meets generally accepted accounting principles. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience managing Capital budget and accounting assignments, and experience leading internal audit, risk assessment, and financial compliance.

The duties of the position include monitoring federal funding, developing budget guidelines, leading Grants Metrics meetings, and collaborating with grant program teams. The position also requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and to motivate others.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience managing Capital budget and accounting assignments
  • Experience leading internal audit, risk assessment, and financial compliance
  • Comfort in making decisions and recommend solutions to problems and challenges as they arise
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain working relationships
  • Strong written and spoken communications skills
  • Ability to work independently as a self-motivator and to motivate others
  • Ability to work calmly and proficiently under pressure and to adhere to deadlines
  • Must possess strong technical skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Prior experience with Financial Management System (FMS) is preferred
