Role Overview
The Global Specialty practice at The Hartford is seeking a Data Steward to join our Data & Analytics value stream. This role will partner closely with the existing Data Steward to support and expand our data governance capabilities and Data Modernization work.
What You Will Do
Perform data analysis, data discovery, and data profiling using industry-standard tools to understand data characteristics, validate business meaning and usage, identify data quality concerns, and promote consistency and trust in data.

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or business analysis within the Insurance industry or similar environment
- Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes, and/or analytics platforms
- Strong understanding of data stewardship concepts, including data quality, lineage, and governance
- Familiarity with data governance tools such as IDMC (or similar platforms)
- Experience developing and maintaining data dictionaries, glossaries, and governance artifacts
- Ability to independently investigate data issues and identify root causes
- Strong collaboration skills with experience working across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences
- Understanding of data modeling and domain-driven design concepts (insurance preferred)
- Proficiency with querying tools (SQL preferred)
- Experience working in Agile environments
