Sales Manager – Fresh

Role Overview

Primarily responsible for leading and managing Wayne Farms’ Fresh Sales activities through the development and implementation of sales plans to achieve pricing, mix, volume growth, conversion to programmed accounts and profit, in line with company goals.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement strategic growth plans, participate in the development of Wayne Farms’ overall strategic sales plan, build and maintain current customer relationships, assess and make recommendations for converting customers to programmed accounts, and provide direction in effectively managing the sales mix within assigned region.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum three (3) years’ relevant sales experience within the poultry or protein industry, with specific sales account knowledge, and possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence new and existing customers.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent with some college work
• Bachelors’ degree in Business, Poultry Science, Agricultural Science or other relevant field preferred
• Minimum three (3) years’ relevant sales experience within the poultry or protein industry
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence new and existing customers
• Strong computer skills with the ability to work with multiple Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
• Ability to apply knowledge of market strategies, budgets, pricing strategies, and general economics to quickly identify new business and customer opportunities
• Ability to learn and utilize sales techniques
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
• Ability to work collaboratively with others, possessing tact and discretion and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in all matters
• Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
