Position Overview

The Head of Marketing will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy across all business units. This individual will oversee brand positioning, customer acquisition, and revenue‑driving initiatives across auctions, retail galleries, marketplace, services, and social commerce channels.

This role requires a blend of strategic vision, analytical rigor, and hands‑on execution, with the ability to operate both at a high level and in the details of campaign development.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a unified marketing strategy aligned with company growth objectives across all business lines
  • Build and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and strong ROI
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure performance and optimize campaigns

Marketing Planning & Execution

  • Create and manage a comprehensive marketing calendar across auctions, retail, marketplace, and services
  • Develop tailored marketing plans for:
  • Auctions: Drive consignments and bidder participation across global sales
  • Retail Galleries: Increase foot traffic, purchases, and walk‑in consignments
  • Stack’s Marketplace: Acquire and retain buyers and sellers
  • Services: Promote Vault, Collectibles Market Qualified (CMQ), and Coins in Motion
  • Apex Streams (Whatnot): Scale live social commerce presence and customer engagement

Channel Management

  • Oversee execution across a diverse set of marketing channels: Print advertising in trade publications, SEO and organic search growth, SEM and paid acquisition campaigns, AI‑driven optimization and emerging marketing technologies, Digital marketing (email, social, display, affiliate), Broadcast opportunities including radio and television

Team & Agency Leadership

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing marketing team across disciplines
  • Manage external agencies and vendors (creative, media buying, PR, SEO, etc.)
  • Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with auction, gallery, marketplace, and operations teams to align marketing initiatives
  • Partner with numismatic specialists and business leaders to bring products and stories to market effectively
  • Collaborate with Gold.Com affiliated companies to share best practices, leverage synergies, and optimize group‑wide performance

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of marketing leadership experience, ideally within collectibles, luxury goods, marketplaces, or e‑commerce
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through multi‑channel marketing strategies
  • Experience managing significant marketing budgets with strong analytical and ROI focus
  • Deep understanding of both traditional and digital marketing channels
  • Experience with marketplace platforms and/or social commerce (e.G., Whatnot, eBay Live) preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment

Full‑Time | $200,000 – $250,000 / Annually | On‑site – Costa Mesa, CA
