Data Science and Analytics Manager

Role Overview

The Data Science & Analytics Manager will lead data scientists, analytics specialists, and developing talent to deliver and sustain diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics across Bord Gáis Energy, translating business priorities into high-quality models, analytical products, and actionable insight.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include shaping and articulating BGE’s data science and analytics strategy, building trusted senior stakeholder relationships, leading the design and testing of automated analytical products, and ensuring models are accurate, explainable, reproducible, documented, monitored, and maintained.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in senior data science, advanced analytics or a related role
• Proven ability to balance urgent business needs with scalable, automated and well-governed capability
• Strong practical experience with Databricks or similar cloud analytics platforms, Python, SQL, large-scale Azure or Oracle data environments, Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform
• Experience across the machine-learning lifecycle, including version control, testing, deployment, monitoring and documentation
• Knowledge of billing, CRM, digital, customer-contact and operational data
• Ability to work across KPI Reporting, Data Engineering, Data Governance, platform teams and the business to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Strong people leadership, mentoring, prioritisation, negotiation and communication skills
• Working knowledge of data quality, GDPR, privacy, responsible AI and model governance
